Song of the Day selections, as posted on www.twitter.com/lomasca
Noorgard - The Vaccines.
In my opinion the Vaccines are a great guitar band. They pull off great little songs with not many chords, good lyrics, and that are always of the perfect length. I really like them. This is my favourite off the EP ‘What Did You Expect From’.

Perfect example of what an incredible songwriter he is
Small Faces - Afterglow (Of Your Love)
Probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written, easily the best song by the band. And what a band! Check them out X
Solitaire - Neil Sedaka
Strange though it is, I was bought up on this man, and he was one of the first singers I loved. Strange, I know. This song proves what a very technical musician and great singer he is. I’d like to see him one day.
Trivia: This is the man who wrote “Is this the way to amarillo”.
“If Rock and Roll had a different name, you could call it Chuck Berry”. I love how effortless this performance is, brilliant.
At the Indie Disco - The Divine Comedy
I Just discovered this guy, he’s brilliant! This is his latest single for the 2010 album “Bang goes the Knighthood”. The divine comedy mix an eclectic mix of styles to form a fusion of 60’s beat with folk, and some really witty lyrics. Some of his work strikes me as being influenced by the Kinks. Check out the album, and his 1996 album, “casanova”.
Enjoy
You’re Not Stubborn - Two Door Cinema Club
After Hours - The Velvet Underground
Awesome Song I’ve listened to alot this week. It was the only song that the drummer (Maureen Tucker) did the vocals on.

Dead Souls - Joy Division
My favourite Joy Division song. Originally it was only a B Side!
Shout to the Top - The Style Council.
I Love the Style Council. Coming out of the Jam Weller totally changed his direction and image, as he has so many times, and to the anger of 98% of his fans. This is how pop music should be. Check out anything you can by TSC, but particularly the singles, such as Come to Milton Keynes, My Ever Changing Moods, Walls come Tumbling Down, The Paris Match, a Man of Great Promise and A Solid Bond in your heart. Yeah I live them. x
